B.A.S.I.C Echo Course (Bristol Acute Setting & Intensive Care Echo)

This two day course will give participants an overview of the practise of bedside Echo in acute settings. Completion of the second day will give participations a basic level of competence in these scanning techniques.
The course is designed for all clinicians who care for critically ill patients – ITU/ED/Anaesthesia/Acute Medicine

Day 1
- Basic Transthoracic views
- 2D and M Mode Assessment
- Assessment of LV Function
- Valve Assessment & Pathology
Day 2
- Right Heart and Preload
- USS in assessing the Shocked Patient
- USS of the Pleura and Lungs
- FAST/FEEL/FATE/FICE - What it means
Echo is a practical skill and the course focuses on hands on scanning in small group workshops for maximum supervised scanning experience.
